Beyond his professional work, Dr. Louis Bourget is a dedicated humanitarian. He regularly participates in medical missions to Brazil and Africa, treating children and adults with severe facial and dental conditions. His family often joins him on these missions, helping the local populations in a variety of ways in their own right.
Dr. Bourget helps several local causes, as well. He teaches first aid to members of the Canadian Ski Patrol and volunteers his dental services to prison inmates. He also packs and sends emergency health supplies to countries experiencing crises, using his professional connections to obtain much-needed medical resources.
Always ready to adopt innovative improvements when he views them to be viable, Dr. Bourget has recently introduced a medical scent service dog into his practices to help reduce anxiety in his patients before surgeries. This initiative, one of the very first of its kind in Canada, reflects his dedication to providing excellent patient care through compassionate, cutting-edge, and outside-the-box approaches.
